Hi, I’m Jason LaPointe.
I’ve spent over 15 years as a first responder, working as both an EMT and a Paramedic. My background includes more than a decade in a high-volume 911 urban ambulance system in the U.S., wildfire medical support, and international and remote medical contracts.
I’ve cared for people through everything from chronic health issues to sudden medical crises — from broken bones to life-threatening trauma. But what shaped me most wasn’t the medicine.
It was the people.
I learned to speak hospital.
But more importantly, I learned to speak Patient.
I’ve sat beside people in pain, panic, and fear. I’ve helped them make sense of what was happening when everything felt chaotic — or simply stayed calm beside them when that’s what they needed most.
What I really learned is this:
People don’t just need information.
They need to feel safe.
They need to feel understood.
They need to feel like someone has their back.
After relocating to Southeast Asia, I saw how much harder medical situations become when you’re abroad — especially when you don’t speak the language, don’t know the healthcare system, and don’t have anyone local to guide you.
That’s why I created LaPointe Medical Navigation.
